Rich past
What used to be Carlsbad in Bohemia is one of the oldest and most famous spa towns in the world. The splendid façades lining the banks of the Teplá and Ohře rivers and the souvenir shops that await tourists and other prospective buyers strolling along the promenades bear witness to its grand tradition.

In a quieter district of the capital Ugandans relax under the palms and mango trees enveloping the Independence Monument. It commemorates the country’s freedom from British colonialism on October 9, 1962, and shows a woman lifting a child high up over her bonds.

Chronicle
The monumental Chronicle of Georgia statue erected in 1985 rises 35 meters up into the sky. Also known as the Stonehenge of Tbilisi, the edifice depicting figures from the country's history and scenes from the life of Christ is a popular photo motif at all times of the day (and night).
