Platinum position effortlessly defended
The KHS Group has been awarded platinum, the highest accolade presented by EcoVadis, for the second time running. This rating honors the outstanding achievements of and progress made by the expert for filling and packaging lines with respect to sustainability.
“Winning our second platinum award is a great success for the entire team. In a rating system that’s subject to dynamic further development with ever increasing requirements, we’ve achieved an excellent result,” smiles Nicole Pohl, senior ESG manager at KHS.
In doing so, KHS continues to be among the top 1% of over 175,000 companies vetted every year. The rating organization defines up to 21 sustainability criteria for assessment in the fields of environment, labor law and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. KHS’ renewed pioneering role proves that ecological and social responsibility isn’t just an empty phrase but is actively practiced – and measurably so – by the systems supplier headquartered in Dortmund. Sustainability targets are consistently pursued and progress is transparently documented and continuously further developed.

Clear improvement
With 89 out of 100 points, KHS has further improved its score over the previous year. EcoVadis gave KHS’ commitment to sustainable development and responsible corporate governance above and beyond its operative business an exceptionally positive evaluation. This is notably demonstrated in the Endorsements category that rates a company’s formal recognition and promotion of external sustainability initiatives and principles. Thanks to the continuous further development of this commitment, KHS notched up considerably more points in this section compared to the previous year.
“We see EcoVadis as a yardstick measuring our own sustainability achievements in the direct context of the market and competition,” explains Pohl. “This allows our stakeholders to make a sound and reliable comparison of our progress throughout the entire value chain.”
“At KHS, we don’t just pay lip service to sustainability; it’s an obligatory benchmark that guides us in all that we do.”

CSO of KHS
“EcoVadis’ rating criteria are becoming increasingly tougher,” says Tobias Wetzel, CSO of KHS. “The fact that we’ve defended our platinum position and even managed to improve on our result confirms that we’re on the right track. At KHS, we don’t just pay lip service to sustainability; it’s an obligatory benchmark that guides us in all that we do. In economically, politically and climatically challenging times in particular, we demonstrate that responsibility and corporate success can go hand in hand.”
