By acquiring the majority share in Tyrolon-Schulnig, a specialist for active bottle grippers, the KHS Group is expanding its expertise in the handling of PET and glass containers.

With Tyrolon-Schulnig’s know-how already being put to successful use on KHS lines, the systems established on the market will undergo joint further development with immediate effect.

Whether for new lines or as a retrofit package for existing machinery, bottle conveying technology by Tyrolon is among the world’s best for efficiency, flexibility and occupational safety. This expertise is now to be amalgamated into the portfolio marketed by holistic systems provider KHS.

Added value for customers

“This holding binds our two companies, who’ve already cooperated extremely successfully in the past, closer together,” says Martin Resch, managing director of the KHS Group. “It’s not only good strategy for us to further develop this knowledge with the focus on the high-performance range; first and foremost, it gives our customers significant added value when these systems and solutions are available from a single source in the future.”

Stronger together: KHS and Tyrolon are exploiting their synergies to further develop PET and glass bottle handling systems.

Conveying stars and neck clamp systems

Family business Tyrolon-Schulnig, founded in 1981, is well known for two systems. One is the tyrolon Star® that enables gentle, efficient and versatile conveying of bottles and other containers of various shape and size; the other is the universal tyrolon® neck clamp system that is especially low maintenance, of high quality and convincing in direct market comparison thanks to its long service life.

The tyrolon Star® transports bottles and other containers of various size without the need for conversion or accessory parts.

The universal tyrolon® neck clamp system is especially low maintenance, durable and of high quality.

“KHS’ machine and system solutions harmonize perfectly with our products. I’m convinced that we can further optimize container handling through our intensified partnership. Our clients will profit from even more effective and sustainable production,” says Ludwig Schulnig, CEO and founder of Tyrolon-Schulnig. KHS’ worldwide organization will give the company considerable opportunities for growth.

The company, henceforth to be known as Tyrolon, will not only supply KHS with its product portfolio; it will service the entire market. The universal system will thus continue to be available to all.

Both partners emphasize their loyalty to the Hochfilzen production site in Austria and their particular responsibility towards the Tyrolon workforce.
