Extensive course range: the KHS Virtual Training Center now covers most of the current machine portfolio and is available in several different languages. And that’s not all by any means!
As part of KHS Campus, the extensive training program from the Dortmund systems supplier, KHS Campus Virtual facilitates playful self-study: users explore single machines or entire beverage lines with the help of an avatar and move to what are known as interactive learning points on a digital machine twin. Here, they discover instructive learning nuggets i.e. small, compact teaching units. They then collect points in each study unit that are saved like a high score in a game once they’ve finished.

Practically the genuine article: with the help of state-of-the-art rendering technology, the machines integrated as digital twins are extremely realistic.
Learning nuggets for cans, glass and PET
First introduced as a pilot version at drinktec three years ago, the KHS Virtual Training Center (VTC) is now ready to go into ‘serial’ production and has been successfully marketed since March. The program currently covers the three container categories: cans, glass and PET. Learning modules available to date range from stretch blow molders, process technology and fillers to packaging and palletizing. Modules for Plasmax machines, labelers and block systems are expected to follow in the course of 2026. At the moment, all content is given in German and English, with French, Spanish and Portuguese also provided for the can module. Glass and PET will follow suit by the end of 2025.

Portfolio constantly growing
“The VTC is a dynamic tool that’s constantly developing further,” emphasizes Marco Palme, head of KHS Training Center South and VTC project manager. “Our machine portfolio is always growing; the learning content is thus being continuously expanded.” The only limiting factor is the age of the customer’s system; it needs to match the digital twin in the VTC for learning to be as effective as possible.
Focus on flexibility
The main advantage of the VTC is its flexibility for students. “The app runs online on totally normal Office PCs,” Palme explains. “Our customers don’t need any additional software or hardware. Users can train spontaneously at any time, for example during a short break in production and 24/7.”
OPEN IN-PERSON SEMINARS
NEW IN KHS CAMPUS
By popular request, in the future KHS will be offering its in-person training courses as open seminars. Instead of being available only to exclusive groups, individuals can now also take part. At drinktec 2025, KHS will be presenting its first seminar calendar to this end. First appointments can then be booked.
