Second gold for KHS

As in 2023, the EcoVadis rating agency has again awarded the KHS Group the coveted gold medal. Despite tougher assessment criteria, the Dortmund systems supplier has now improved its result to 73 out of 100 points.

KHS, including its global supply chain, has had its commitment to sustainability rated by EcoVadis since 2012. In this time, requirements have gradually grown more stringent. New regulations prescribed by the European Green Deal1, for example, have caused the rating agency to further adjust its evaluation principle above and beyond its yearly updates: the rating criteria and benchmarks in the environment, labor law and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement categories have thus become much tougher. This has led to greater competition between the participating companies and made the procedure even more demanding, as the requirements governing proof of performance during an audit have also been tightened, for instance. In order to achieve a consistently good result, companies must increase their performance year on year.

Strong signal

In this context, KHS CEO Kai Acker considers the company’s second gold award to be a particularly great success. “This is a strong signal for us and a credible basis for assessment for our customers. And it confirms the efforts we’re making to protect the environment, ensure ethical business practices and exercise social responsibility. We’re consistently pursuing our aim of reaching net zero within the Group by 2050.” Of all companies evaluated – regardless of their branch of industry – KHS is therefore among the top 5% with its commitment to sustainability.
