With our reliable and forward-looking systems we support you, our customers, on your path into a future full of diverse challenges that go beyond climate change, energy shortages and the war in Europe. The big issues that currently concern our branch of industry include, for example, line efficiency, intelligent processes, circular packaging and reliable service. In this issue of “KHS competence” and at the trade shows currently being held we’re pleased to be able to provide answers to questions on these topics especially. In this context I’d like to draw your attention to the following articles in this edition in particular:

Focus on sustainability: at the beginning of the year the Salz­gitter Group, to which KHS belongs, launched its new strategy that centers entirely on circularity. In the article Closing the loop I talk to group CEO Gunnar Groebler about what’s behind this realignment, which significance the circular economy has had for KHS for many years now and what we’re currently doing to help you further reduce your carbon footprint.

Focus on efficiency: in the SmartCan by KHS/Ferrum, developed together with our Swiss partner of many years, the can filler and seamer have come together to form a single unit. Find out in the article Come together how this, together with many technical new features, makes for improved hygiene, a lower use of materials and resources, faster cleaning cycles and shorter changeover times.

Focus on the future: we’re proud to present the KHS InnoPET iflex, our intelligent concept for automatic line conversion. This now only takes 30 minutes right down the line – putting you in the perfect position to meet future market challenges. Details can be found in the article No time to lose. What we’ve already successfully achieved for the PET bottle will also be applied to other container types in the future.
