Dear Readers:

Sensitive beverages, such as milk, mixed milk beverages, juices and many more, make special demands of hygienic filling. For over 25 years KHS has intensively addressed this topic, acting as one of the pioneers in hygienic filling. We know exactly what our customers in this field need, providing powerful systems which can process the diverse and dynamic product range on this special market safely, reliably and economically. In this issue of ‘KHS competence’ you can find out which new modular concepts our compact systems are based on and how these usefully supplement our extensive range of blocked machinery.

In this context, starting on page 40 we would also like to present Nectar to you, a model Serbian company which makes and markets fruit juices, fruit nectars, iced tea and energy drinks on its home market and beyond extremely successfully – harvesting not just tons of fruit but also heaps of recognition. Some of its products are of course produced on an aseptic filler from KHS.

We prove that sustainability is also a key issue for us as a systems supplier by frequently entering into discussion as to the pros and cons of PET bottles – in this edition of the magazine in the form of an interview with beverage industry expert Klaus Peter Stadler. Together with him we take a look at the future of the plastic bottle and talk about what the sustainable beverage packaging of tomorrow must already look like today.

I would personally be delighted to also have the chance to speak to you again soon. One good opportunity would be to meet up at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, Germany, between March 20 and 23, 2018, where you can find me at our trade show booth A60/A68 in Hall 8.1.

Best regards,
