Dear Readers:

This issue of our customer magazine places special emphasis on packaging and machine blocking. There has been a move towards ever more compact systems for many years now, not just on PET filling lines but also in packaging machinery. Blocking enables lots of technology to be packed into the smallest of spaces – to the delight of many beverage producers who are increasingly reaching their limits when it comes to spatial capacity. The KHS InnoDry Block is a real novelty in this respect. You can also see it live at interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Another technical highlight in the sphere of packaging is the result of our cooperation with Gerhard Schubert GmbH in Crailsheim, the manufacturer of packaging machines with the world’s greatest experience in top loading. Together we have created a blocked system for Brauerei Schützengarten in Switzerland which can process crates and cartons in combination and also buffers the crate magazine.

KHS is also looking to the future in the field of after sales. One important element in our strategy is the regionalization of service and spare parts management. In increasing the quantity of local KHS offices and continuously boosting the number of personnel who run them, we are creating even greater proximity to the customer and drastically cutting reaction times. Thanks to our qualified local presence we can offer credible holistic maintenance concepts for our machines from the region for the region which in turn lead to even higher machine availability.

However much this issue of “KHS competence” goes into detail about the aforementioned and many other exciting topics, nothing can replace the personal impressions you will gather on a visit to the interpack trade show. I look forward to talking to you at our booth A31 in Hall 13.

Best regards,
